Forging a brighter future

St. Francis of Assisi High School is committed to admitting talented and deserving students regardless of their economic background because we believe every child deserves education. Some families don't have the ability to pay the cost of their children's education. We try to support them. Each year the school gives out some full or half scholarships to deserving students. The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on the financial resources available.

Murphy Scholarship Fund

This Scholarship Fund was established in July 2020 and is named after a New Zealand catholic priest, Fr. Peter Murphy who donated, for charity, the monetary gifts he received when he celebrated his priestly ordination silver jubilee on 27 June 2020. That donation was the seed out of which grew the scholarship fund.

Fr. Peter became friends with Fr. John Vianney Makanda, the founder and director of St. Francis of Assisi High School, when both were serving in St. Mary’s Papakura parish, with Fr. Peter as the parish priest.
